Local Rules
- A ball is OUT OF
BOUNDS if it lies:
a)
Beyond any hedge, bank, white marker posts, wire or timber fences
comprising the boundary of the course.
b)
On or beyond any concrete, macadam, paved or artificial surface or
gardens in the vicinity of the clubhouse, professional’s shop, greenkeepers’
sheds, trolley shed and car park.
- PATHS
a)
Paths without artificial surfaces and general areas of wear (not marked
with “Ground Under Repair”) are an integral part of the course.
b)
Paths with artificial surfaces are deemed immovable obstructions and rule
24-2 applies. Relief taken at nearest point of relief where bank or hedge does
not interfere with stance or swing.
3. ALL
DRAINAGE DITCHES are lateral water hazards and are defined by red posts.
(Rule 26 applies)
4. STAKED
TREES are immovable obstructions (rule 24-2applies)
5. STONES IN
BUNKERS may be removed without penalty.
6. SPRINKLER
HEADS and HYDRANT COVERS are immovable obstructions and rule 24-2
applies. In addition, if a sprinkler head or hydrant cover intervenes between a
ball (not lying in a hazard) and the hole, and is within two club lengths of the
ball, the player may, without penalty, lift, clean and drop the ball no nearer
the hole, at the nearest point at which intervention of the irrigation item is
avoided.
7. DISTANCE
MARKER POSTS Green and white Distance marker posts are movable obstructions
(rule 24-1 applies).
NOTE:
Additional local rules may from time to time
be in force and are displayed on the club notice board.
Practice Ground:
The designated area which may be
used before stroke play competitions is the area between the 10th and
11th fairways.
