Pin Placements

The placement of the pin on the greens is indicated by the colour of the flag as follows:

 Red: Back of green
 Yellow: Centre of green
 White: Front of green

Local Rules

  1. A ball is OUT OF BOUNDS if it lies:

a)     Beyond any hedge, bank, white marker posts, wire or timber fences comprising the boundary of the course.

b)     On or beyond any concrete, macadam, paved or artificial surface or gardens in the vicinity of the clubhouse, professional’s shop, greenkeepers’ sheds, trolley shed and car park.

  1. PATHS

a)     Paths without artificial surfaces and general areas of wear (not marked with "Ground Under Repair") are an integral part of the course.

b)     Paths with artificial surfaces are deemed immovable obstructions and rule 24-2 applies.  Relief taken at nearest point of relief where bank or hedge does not interfere with stance or swing.

  3.  ALL DRAINAGE DITCHES are lateral water hazards and are defined by red posts. (Rule 26 applies)

  4.  STAKED TREES are immovable obstructions (rule 24-2applies)

  5.  STONES IN BUNKERS may be removed without penalty.

  6.  SPRINKLER HEADS and HYDRANT COVERS are immovable obstructions and rule 24-2 applies.  In addition, if a sprinkler head or hydrant cover intervenes between a ball (not lying in a hazard) and the hole, and is within two club lengths of the ball, the player may, without penalty, lift, clean and drop the ball no nearer the hole, at the nearest point at which intervention of the irrigation item is avoided.

  7.  DISTANCE MARKER POSTS Green and white Distance marker posts are movable obstructions (rule 24-1 applies).

NOTE:  Additional local rules may from time to time be in force and are displayed on the club notice board.

Practice Ground:  The designated area which may be used before stroke play competitions is the area between the 10th and 11th fairways.

Winter Rules

  1. BALL: Lying on closely-mowngrass through the green may be lifted, cleaned and replaced (within 6 inches) not nearer the hole. This includes the closely mown grass on the upper slope before the green on the ninth hole.

  2. PROPER MAIN GREENS: When winter green is in play, lift off normal main greens, drop ball within one club's length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.

  3. WINTER GREENS:When a main green is in play then the winter green must be treated as GUR. Lift off and drop the ball (without penalty) within one club's length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.

  4. TEES: You must lift off normal tees when mats or frost tees are in play. Drop ball within one club's length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.

  5. PLUGGED BALL: A ball plugged in the rough may be lifted, cleaned and dropped within one club's length, not nearer the hole.
    NOTE: The ball must not be dropped on "closely-mown grass".

  6. HOLE 3 MATS: A ball coming to rest on either the path or the adjacent GUR on the right side of the third fairway is to be lifted and played from the mats provided on the path no nearer the hole.

  7. VEHICLE TRACKS: Maintenance vehicle or course buggy wheel marks (not trolley) may be treated as GUR and the ball dropped within one club's lengthof the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.
